Daniel Schwartz: Co-Managing Partner of 3G Capital

Daniel Schwartz is a Co-Managing Partner of 3G Capital, an investment management firm investing in firms internationally and reaching new heights with their portfolio companies. As well as investing in Brazilian companies, he helps run his family’s company. 3G Capital contributes to different industries, such as energy and health care. Today he focuses on healthcare, where they are looking at a company’s assets with a value of over $7 billion. 


Business expert Daniel Schwartz works with the other Co-Managing Partners, Jorge Paulo Lemann, and Carlos Alberto Sicupira. He graduated from Columbia University in 1989 with a degree in psychology but planned to become a serial entrepreneur until he discovered he did not have a passion for it. He has served on the boards of directors for several companies, including Kraft Foods, Lojas Americanas, Lojas Renner, and Burger King Corporation. He serves on the board of directors for Kraft Foods Holdings, Inc., Dunkin’ Brands Group, Inc., and Dunkin’ Donuts Corporation. It is at Kraft Foods, where he has served as a director since 2003. 


The family-run business has its roots in South America and was started in 1922 by Daniel’s great grandfather. Kraft Foods provides a variety of foods and beverages to the world. A notable member of the board of directors is Daniel’s cousin, Leo Schwartz, the current CEO and Chairman of Lojas Renner, a Brazilian retail giant with nearly $6 billion in annual revenue. Daniel Schwartz is well known for investing in companies that are in the food and beverage industry. 


The Brazilian investment firm has over $6 billion invested in companies such as Burger King and Dunkin’ Donuts restaurant chains.Brazil has been an area of interest for the firm due to its strong economy, consumer demand, and rising income levels. According to Daniel Schwartz, it’s not only in Brazil, where they are looking at growth but also internationally. They have investments in Argentina, China, Germany, and Poland. Schwartz is proud to be essential to his family’s success and company. 


He is pleased to have been inspired by his father, Charlie Schwartz, who was also an entrepreneur. Schwartz is the owner of “Longueuil,” which is a sports and recreation club in Santo André, Brazil. The Longueuil Club was founded in 1982 and had over 7,000 members. Daniel Scwartz explains that it offers members various services such as physical education, social clubs, professional training courses, and even health clubs.
